Questions you may have

If you're trying to work out whether Method & Worth is the right fit, how we work, or where to start, you're in the right place. Below are honest answers to the questions we hear most often.

If something isn't covered here, just get in touch. We're always happy to talk it through.

What is Method & Worth?

Method & Worth is a senior marketing and finance consultancy based in Yorkshire, working with owner-led businesses across the UK. We help founders find the true character of their brand, sharpen their strategy and see clearly what their marketing is returning. We'll always tell you the truth, and we genuinely care how it turns out.

Who leads Method & Worth, and what is their background?

Method & Worth was founded by Alexandra Hinkins, who also leads our fractional finance director service. Helen Darlington leads the strategy, brand and creative work on every engagement, and is the person behind our Brand Truth Method. Between them they bring decades of experience across brand, marketing, creative direction and finance, and they built the business because founders deserve the kind of senior thinking usually kept for much larger companies.

Who do you work with?

We work best with founders, owners and leadership teams who are passionate about what they do and know their marketing should be delivering more, but aren't sure exactly why it isn't. They're usually at a big moment of growth or change and want senior support without a full-time hire. We especially love working with businesses that have people, planet or purpose at their heart.

Where are you based?

We're based across East and West Yorkshire. However, we work with clients across the UK and are happy to work remotely or in person depending on what suits you best.

What services does Method & Worth offer?

There are six ways to work with us: the Brand Truth Method, the 7-Day Sprint, brand repositioning and rollout, fractional marketing leadership, a fractional finance director, and ROI, review and analysis. Every engagement is shaped around what your business actually needs, and we'll be honest about which of these you do and don't need.

Do you offer finance support as well as marketing?

Yes. Alex leads our fractional finance director service, covering cash forecasting, management reporting, funding readiness and, through her team, bookkeeping, VAT and payroll. Find out more about our fractional finance director service.

What is the 7-Day Sprint?

The 7-Day Sprint is a focused diagnostic that gets under the hood of your brand, messaging and marketing activity in seven days. You walk away with a clear written report, honest findings, specific recommendations and a prioritised set of next steps, plus an agreed set of KPIs and a bespoke ROI framework that gives every future decision a financial anchor.

What is the Brand Truth Method?

It's our five-stage way of finding a brand's real character before anything is designed or written: Find, Frame, Feel, Fuse, Form. It's rooted in Jungian archetypes, which give a shared language for what a brand stands for and how it should behave. You can read the full method in our Method Series paper, or we can run it with you.

What is fractional marketing leadership?

Fractional marketing leadership means working with a senior marketing director or creative lead on a part-time or project basis, without the cost and commitment of a full-time hire. At Method & Worth, we work alongside your team to set direction, raise standards and keep things moving, with an ROI model running alongside so you can always see what the work is doing for you.

Do you offer ongoing support or is it project-based?

Both. The 7-Day Sprint is designed to stand alone and delivers everything you need to move forward independently. But for many of the founders we work with, it becomes the foundation for a longer relationship, whether that's brand repositioning, fractional marketing leadership or ongoing ROI, review and analysis.

How do you know if a brand needs repositioning?

Common signs include a brand that has drifted over time, messaging that no longer reflects where the business is heading, activity that's happening but not converting, and a sense that the brand isn't saying the right thing, even if you can't pinpoint exactly what's off. We help you name the problem honestly and build a sharper, more confident story in its place.

What does a brand strategy actually include?

A brand strategy defines how your business is understood: your positioning, narrative, tone and the story you tell across every touchpoint. At Method & Worth, it always starts with your brand's true character, through our Brand Truth Method, and it's always tied to commercial goals. We don't create brand work that looks good in a presentation but doesn't move the business forward.

Why isn't more marketing activity the answer?

Most marketing problems aren't really marketing problems. They're clarity problems. If the strategy isn't sharp and the brand isn't saying the right thing, more content, more channels and more spend won't fix it. It will amplify the problem. What fixes it is clearer thinking at the foundation, built around real commercial goals.

How do you measure the impact of your work?

Every engagement starts by establishing the right KPIs for your business and building a bespoke ROI framework around your numbers, your activity and your commercial goals. That gives us a financial baseline before we start, so the impact of every change is visible and every investment decision is easier to make with confidence.

What is an ROI model for marketing?

An ROI model connects your marketing activity directly to financial outcomes, so you can see, in real terms, what the work is returning. At Method & Worth, Alex builds a bespoke model for each client, specific to their business, their activity and their growth goals. It's never a generic template. It's built so you always know what the work is worth.

Can you help if I don't currently track marketing performance?

Yes, and this is often where we can add the most immediate value. Many of the businesses we work with have been investing in marketing without a clear financial anchor. The 7-Day Sprint establishes that baseline from scratch, giving you the KPIs and the ROI framework you need before making any further investment.

How do I know if Method & Worth is right for my business?

If your marketing should be delivering more but you're not sure exactly why it isn't, you're in the right place. We work with founders at all stages, from those preparing for significant growth to those who simply want to stop circling the same problems. The best way to find out is to book a conversation. There's no pressure and no pitch, just an honest discussion about where you are and what might help. You can also see some of our recent work here.

Can I speak to someone you've worked with?

Of course. We're happy to put you in touch with clients who can tell you what working with us is really like. Just ask when we first talk, and we'll find someone whose situation is close to yours.

What's the best way to start working with you?

Most clients start with the 7-Day Sprint. It's designed to give you immediate clarity and a clear commercial foundation, whether you go on to work with us or not. You can also just book a conversation first if you're not sure where to start. Tell us where you are, what isn't working and what you're hoping to change, and we'll help you work out the best next step.

How much does it cost to work with Method & Worth?

Every engagement is shaped around what you need, so pricing reflects the scope and length of the work. Our day rates run from £500 to £750, depending on who leads the work and what is needed. Most fractional clients book a set number of days each month, so you know the cost before we start. The 7-Day Sprint is a fixed fee from £2,500 + VAT. For longer engagements, we'll agree a structure that reflects what your business actually needs, and put it in writing before anything starts. We'd always rather have an honest conversation about fit before talking about fees.

Seven days. An honest answer. A plan you'll want to follow.

If you've been circling the same problems for a while, the 7-Day Sprint is how you stop circling and start moving, with the numbers to show what the work is worth.
